Short Trip to Manila, WordCamp Philippines and Food Trip!
Flying to Manila
I know this is already a late post but still I wanna share what I have been to this previous weekend. Well, I just had a short trip/vacation to Manila last weekend. I took the morning flight of Cebu Pacific Airline last Friday and touched-ground Manila around 10:00am. It was a fair weather and just right to welcome me to Manila. But damn it was really hot and the air is heavy.
My brother went to fetch me with a motorcycle and just imagine having that vehicle flow with the Manila traffic. But, it was smooth and fast (para akong lumilipad dahil sa bilis). I stayed where my brother stays, at the AFPOVAI Village, near NAIA Terminal 3. Kaya, it only took him 10 minutes to drive us home. The place was nice but one thing I hate about it is that every hour may dumadaan na airplane. Ikaw ba naman ang tumira malapit sa NAIA, naku po! Just headache, I did not slept well.
SM Mall of Asia
Friday that was, I went to MOA and my brother headed to their office. I was alone roaming around SM Mall of Asia (SM MOA). It was the first time I visited MOA, kasi I thought when I was still working in Manila few years ago that MOA is that far. I mean mahirap mag-commute papunta dun, hindi pala. Toink!
I took lunch early kasi I did not had my breakfast before leaving Zamboanga. I was restaurant-hunting and ended up to T.G.I. Friday’s for lunch and that was just the most expensive lunch I spent in my entire life. Sigh. But it was worth the money I spent because it was a very delicious meal and beverage I had (see photo below).
After that lunch, I was looking for a place to do some work; a coffee shop perhaps. And yes, I tried all the coffee shops but they don’t have power outlet (lowbat na kasi ang battery ko) and the WiFi is not free. I need to buy Php 100 worth of Globe Broadband (WiFi) Prepaid Access. That Php100 is just for 1 hour. Whaaaatt??? So, expensive!!! Buti pa sa Zamboanga free ang WiFi sa mga coffee shop.

Captivating Capiz
Captivating Capiz!
What’s with the title of this post, by the way? Nothing much really but yet another SEO competition here brought to us by some generous people from this province, the very captivating Capiz. And, for those who doesn’t have any idea where Capiz is, just read on:
Dubbed as the “Seafood Capital of the Philippines”, Capiz boasts of its 80-kilometer coastline and wide expanse of swampy land easily covered into fishponds. It holds one of the country’s richest fishing grounds and is a major contributor to the aquamarine industry.
Full of enchantment and mystery, Capiz claims to possess several legends and beliefs from which the name “Capiz” originated. More popular of these belief stories is that Capiz comes from the word “kapid” (which means twin). When the Spaniards settled in the place, they found it difficult to pronounce the word “kapid” thus giving birth to the name “Capiz”. Still , some old folks claim that Capiz got its name from “kapis”, a shell of the mollusk family that is very much abundant in the place.

As I have mentioned, this is an entry for the P5,000+ Mini-SEO Contest from Capiz which I got the invite to join from bleuken. So, might as well try my luck with this one and this will be my entry. Never been to that captivating province of Capiz yet but I’m sure that it is surely another beautiful place in the Philippines that tourist might want to visit. This post is just for Captivating Capiz.

Google Chrome Beta
Why is everyone over with the new Google Chrome (beta) Browser? Is it that it’s a new thing to play with? Perhaps, and yes I am over with it too right now. Over my Plurk timeline, I see updates from my friends saying that they are enjoying and impressed with the performance of Google Chrome, espcially the speed. I, too, am impressed with it with its sleek design and currently greatful to use it.I have downloaded Chrome since it went live for public download. I also referred some friends to try it out. Majority says that they are playing nice with Google Chrome but few says they’re much comfortable with Firefox. “I will wait Google Chrome to release its verson 1. Will wait until they fix some bugs during the beta version.” as one of my friends asserted. Fine, then.
