Benefits of screen savers

I was reviewing about computer technologies — input and output computer peripherals. And, I learned the difference between CRTs and LCDs, types of monitor, as an example computer output device. Later, it discussed about screensavers’ benefits to monitors. I bet you already know about screen savers, and if not, it is an application running on your computer and shows when your machine is idle. These are usually 3D animations.

Well, have you asked about the use of screen savers aside from entertaining you with the beautiful animations? Actually, they help you relieve or reduce stress, seeing those underwater scenes, skies moving, etc. But that’s not the main benefit of screensavers. Screen saver was primarily designed for the purpose of preventing image burn or creating dead pixels on your monitor. Image burn or dead pixel occurs when an image was showed in extended period (like for many hours or days) in one place causing the pixel to burn and will not show the right color eventually but black.

Now, make use of your screen savers and enjoy its small but worth it benefits.
