Nokia App Development Workshop
I recently attended the Nokia App Development Workshop using J2ME last April 25 – 26, 2012 which was held at the Case Room, 5th floor of iAcademy Bldg. in Makati City. It’s a free workshop by Nokia which they frequently offer to the local developer community. I decided to attend the workshop to do a recap on my J2ME skills which I learned during college but wasn’t able to practice much.

During the 2-day workshop, Low and High Level API were discussed along with Gesture, Touch, Game, and Location-based APIs and Monetizing and Publishing Apps in the Nokia Store. Our resource speaker was Mr. Ralph Vincent Regalado wherein he discussed the technology, theory and demos.
Overall, the workshop was worth attending. Looking forward to their next workshops. If you want to join their free workshops, you can check the Nokia App Development Workshops schedules.
Angry Birds In Space
Rovio, the game company who developed the famous Angry Birds web and mobile game, announced the next release – the Angry Birds Space. It’s the first game with an announcement from space courtesy of NASA.
Taking the gravity-free challenge in space, will there be changes in the previous releases in terms of trajectory of objects? We will know that by March 22, 2012 when it will be officially released. Looking forward to the release date.

Exploring The New Google+
It’s the recent buzz in the social web, the Google’s social networking site – Google+. Launched last week, I got an invite few hours after it’s initial launching from GTUG friends. Currently, Google+ is in limited field trial which means you can publicly sign-up as of yet. You need an invite from a Google+ user for you to get in; ( leave a message if you want an invite.)

It is actually dubbed as the Google+ project: Real-life sharing rethought for the web. Many speculates it to be the Facebook killer. Also, many suggest that it is the combination of Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr. Who knows? Just let Google+ surprise us as it is gaining grounds on the social web. Read more…
