Kimchi Pizza Recipe
Last week, I made homemade Kimchi since I miss it already and I can’t find any in the local market. Now, I have a huge bottle of homemade Kimchi ready for consumption. It can be served as plain sidedish or appetizer, but you can also create other meals from it. I tried making Kimchi Bokkumbap (Kimchi Fried Rice) twice already. It is yummy and I am getting addicted to it.
I also learned that it can also be a topping for pizza, so I made Kimchi Pizza last night for dinner. It’s actually easy to make. Here’s how.
Ingredients:
- 2 pcs. 8′ pizza crust (frozen section in the grocery)
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 1/2 cup of chopped Kimchi
- 1/2 cup of tomato paste
- 100 grams bacon, sliced in bite size (or any protein toppings you wish)
- 1 cup of mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup of sliced pitted olives
- Olive oil
Procedures:
- Prepare the Kimchi toppings. Mix the chopped kimchi with the tomato paste. You can use tomato sauce instead of tomato paste.
- Get the pizza crust and spread a layer of the kimchi-tomato mixture. Make sure that you distribute it evenly.
- Add the sliced onion, bacon, olives and sprinkle some mozzarella cheese as desired.
- Drizzle a little of olive oil on top.
- Put it in an oven (I used oven toaster) for around 8-10 minutes, depending on how cooked you wish your toppings be. Just make sure that the crust will not get burned.
You can add bell pepper or other toppings as desired but I decided not to put anything else aside from the mentioned ingredients above to preserve the Kimchi flavor.
Serve while hot. You can make 8 slices from this preparation and will take around 30 minutes to cook.
Now, you can share this yummy and healthy pizza. Yeah, healthy – Kimchi is one of the healthiest food in the world.
Have you tried the Strawberry Taho?
I was so intrigued when I learned that there’s a strawberry-flavored taho in Baguio City. When I visited the strawberry farm, I asked the tenants if where can I get one. Not lucky enough to try one that time because they only offer it outside the farm. I tried the strawberry sorbetes though.
Anyway, I was at the Wright Park, Baguio City last time and glad that I saw manong selling strawberry taho, and so I ordered one. It’s cheap, Php 10.00 per serving. He said that it’s only the syrup which makes it different from the original taho.

The strawberry taho I tried is so sweet and is best served when still hot, complementing the cold weather in Baguio City. I heard they are all over the city, you just have to find the right timing to locate them.
The Minute Maid Pulpy confession from an addict: No Preservatives Added!
I just drank a bottle of Minute Maid Pulpy. They say it’s got ‘no preservatives added’. Aw, c’mon…It’s bottled juice. Is that even possible? So I thought maybe… it’s just their way of promoting it and coping with the competition among bottled orange juice in the market.
I didn’t believe it the first time I heard it’s got no preservatives added. So I read the ingredients (even the fine print) and everything checked out! It really has NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED! That means it doesn’t have ingredients that may turn out to be allergens, or worse…carcinogens! Whew! Now that’s healthy goodness that tastes so good, I… even drink a liter or two a day, during lunch and dinner; and that’s how I got addicted to it.
So okay, it’s got no preservatives added. That’s really good, right? Not just because it doesn’t have those icky, harmful ingredients, but it also means… you get the natural pulpy orange goodness in a bottle — that means it’s healthy for daily intake! Read more…
The New Mang Inasal’s Combo Cup
I went out today for lunch and afternoon meryenda (not actually planned) with friends Laoshi Jen, Laoshi Jill and Sir Jerry. Every time I’m in Zamboanga City for a short visit, they always treat me. Xie xie nimen!
We had lunch at Jollice, a local restaurant located along Mayor Jaldon Street, beside Astoria Hotel and Abalone Seafood Restaurant. I wasn’t able to take photos of the food we had at Jollice, perhaps next time. Sad to say there’s no Crab Meat and Fried Shrimps earlier. They are my fave! Hehe. Anyway, Jollice serves really good Siomai in the city, among other dishes.
Afterwards, we strolled downtown then later had meryenda at Mang Inasal at Southway branch. Laoshi Jill told us that there’s a new product with cool container. We decided to try it out. Here’s the photos:
Razon’s Famous Halo-halo and Palabok in Cebu

Heard about Razon’s delectable food offerings when I was working in Manila few years ago but I wasn’t able to visit one of their branches. Just recently, I spotted their branch here in Cebu and they opened the branch just last March 2010.
The place is located infront of SM Cebu, along J. Luna Avenue, just across the street. I visited it last time and the owner introduced herself and assisted me in mixing the Halo-halo I ordered. She mentioned that they will be opening a new branch in 6th Floor, Metro Ayala-Cebu, newly opened food court on October 1, 2010. So I went to have my dinner there recently. Since they are famous of their special Halo-halo and Palabok, that’s what I odered. Read more…
