Google DevFest Philippines 2010 in Manila
Manila, Philippines - Google developer advocates and engineers were sent to South East Asia to conduct a series of DevFest showcasing latest Google technologies and developer products. Their first stop was in the Philippines. Held this Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Ayala TechnoHub, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, hundreds of developers and enthusiasts gathered at the mentioned place with excitement to hear the talks and demos from the speakers.

Speakers presented their respective topic(s) with passion. Christine Songco, Technical Program Manager – Developer Relations of Google, host of the event started by introducing the agenda/program, house rules, sponsors, and eventually welcomed the participants.
Daniel Lee talked about Google Maps API v3 and showed samples of various functions we can use from the Maps API in customizing Google Maps. He used “Where is Coffee?” as an example where users can plot coffee shops, directions, and ratings. Then, Jeremy Orlow discussed about Chrome developments and lots of cool HTML5 stuff. Also, Open Social was also discussed specially the latest Google Buzz presented by Timothy Jordan and Bob Aman. Lastly, Patrick Chanezon tackled Google Apps and its variety of use for different users. Stephanie Liu under Google Developer Programs and our very own, Aileen Apolo-De Jesus, Google Country Consultant for Philippines, were also present. Of course, demo of some applications from participants were also presented.
