Really. Is your OS that good? Are you already comfortable with Windows XP or Vista? What about Ubuntu or other Linux flavors? What about Apple Mac? At school, one of my subject (CS218) discusses about how operating system works and how to make it more efficient to do processes. Everything thought was necessary to distinguish if an operating system is good or not.

Is it with the name alone? I bet most of you disagree. Common to home and office desktops uses Windows based OS and some Linux. Majority for servers, perhaps, uses Linux. And the rich goes for Mac. Really there is a margin with the OS distribution in the market, it depends on the purpose and personal preference of the user as I see it. So, what about if it goes with the name itself?

Yes. gOS, which was released at the last quarter of 2007, hits the market in some PC at Wal-mart for around 200$.

gOS is a Linux distribution created by ‘Good OS LLC’, a Los Angeles-based corporation. The company advertises it as “An alternative OS with Google Apps and other Web 2.0 apps for the modern user.”

gOS Rocket is based on the Ubuntu 7.10 distribution. It uses the Enlightenment 17 window manager instead of the usual GNOME or KDE desktops, to create a desktop that has similar usability as a Mac with OSX. This is possible because of the flexibility of Enlightenment. Enlightenment acts both as a X window manager, and as a desktop environment, which helps to keep memory requirements low.[citation needed] Therefore Rocket works on systems as low end as a 350MHz Pentium II with 196MB Ram. But a typical gOS system would use as a minimum a 1GHz Pentium III with 256MB RAM.
