Last August, I went to Manila and attended the WordCamp Philippines. And since I was in Manila, I never forgot to drop by National Bookstore to hunt some nice books. So, after an hour of looking and browsing from shelf to shelf at the National Bookstore (SM MOA Branch), I finally bought two books and here they are:

How to Write Better English by Robert Allen
I bought this one because I need to review as I will be doing some serious writing soon, like my research paper, blogging, and write a book! (Ambisyon!). I was to buy a book entitled “The Elements of Style” by Strunk and White but I was not able to grab one because they don’t have a copy of it. I own one but I forgot where I left it when I was staying in Manila last 2006. (Naiwala ko! Tsk.) I ended up buying this book as an alternative. Browsed the book already but did not finished reading it yet.
Chinese in Plain English
I am taking a short Mandarin course this semester, and it’s almost over! Soon, I will do no rush during noon time and attend this 3 units course. So, having myself equipped with the basics like Pinyin and tones, I decided to purchase the book for future reference since I am really into learning this language. The book is good for beginners like me and I recommend it.
Now, I just hope that I can make most out of these books.
