Celebrating Software Freedom Day ’09 in Zamboanga City
Last Saturday, September 19, 2009, we celebrated Software Freedom Day ’09 all over the world. Locally, Zamboanga City also celebrated this yearly event at the STI College campus in cooperation with some generous sponsors; this event was organized by the Mindanao Open Source Society and STI. The celebration advocates the use of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).

During the event, we had talks about FOSS, Linux – Ubuntu & eduBuntu, using open source software for online presence and blogging like WordPress, Joomla, and other free online applications such as Google applications, about NetBeans, etc. Talented students from STI College Zamboanga also shared some entertainments during the breaks and a lot of prices were given away courtesy of the sponsors.
